I thought I read somewhere that it was fairly straightforward to swap the barrel on a Troy par...what is entailed in it and does it matter which one I buy...the .223 or .308?
Was thinking maybe a .270
Sorry to revive this thread, but was wondering how short of a barrel can I install on my PAR, I know handguard is 13" long so I was thinking maybe a 14" in 223 wylde, I have the fixed collapsible stock so id still be over 26" oal.
Just realize one thing - if the barrel has a gas port you will need to take a gas Block and turn/grind it down in circumference to fit under the p.ump sliding mechanism. It needs to be like a barrel collar over the gas port to block the expanding gasses within the barrel. You will need to install the modified gas block backwards in order to block the port.
