Troy PAR + Geissele SSA-E = bolt catch problem

I just picked up my new Troy PAR this afternoon and the first thing I did was install the SSA-E trigger I ordered for it. I cycled it a bunch before taking it apart to see how it worked. Sure is light and points nicely.

After I installed the trigger I could no longer cycle the action after each trigger pull, like I could before the new trigger went in. I had to use the bolt release each time. I took a picture with both triggers installed and the problem is clearly the Geissele trigger does not engage the bolt release as much as as the stock trigger. I have a LMT 2 stage I will try tomorrow but needless to say I am dissapointed. Anyone else put a new trigger in a PAR yet?

I sent this on to Troy. Cant imagine that I am the first guy to run into this. Took a quick look at my LMT 2 stage trigger and looks like it has a contour closer to the stock trigger. Will install it tonight and see if it works.

Are you trying to get Geissele's take on it as well?
Would be interested to know what Troy and/or Geissele's responses are.

TriggerTech now installed.

As you can see the hammer fully contacts the bolt carrier holder to move it forward like the OEM mil-spec trigger and unlike the Geissele.

I have installed a TriggerTech unit, gives me really light strikes in cold weather, slightly better in the 5-10degC range. Still makes for an unreliable trigger on the Troy PAR.

I shall see what their customer service is like tomorrow!

At what lbs of pull have you set the trigger at?

I have uploaded a 3 part illustration of installing the TriggerTech cartridge into a Troy PAR so please be patient with the quality due to rush job.

Timney Trigger model 670S works perfectly with Troy PAR and works with bolt release, installs in about 15 mins, one of the best triggers I have used. I have them in 5 of my AR style weapons without a single light strike

They said their triggers are designed for milspec guns and they are not familiar with the Troy.
