I wouldn't say it gets us nowhere, but it isn't a solution, either. At most it is a delaying action that may allow for a solution in the longer term. While I'm not super excited about it, I do appreciate that at least one province is doing anything it can to give the feds the finger and protect their citizens as best they can. I'd like to see Alberta get on board with something similar as well, for those people that want to have another option.

I agree with the rest about not finding the good things in life. We live in extremely odd times, with technology and personal choices the best they've ever been, but at the same time we face the worst political oppression and malfeasance in many decades.

I would welcome more time / delay, since more time to formulate a plan / make a decision can only help us, in my view.

I have always been of the belief that as time passes, technology improves and information flows that people will generally get more intelligent. Innovative. And lots of life improvements. Certainly in some fields like medicine and other tech conveniences, that is the case.

But I would have never in a million years thought that with so much information at our fingertips, I can say unequivocally that people are dumber than they used to be. People's reasoning faculties are like completely shot. And worse, people don't have the skills to disagree peaceably - this applies to society in general, not any political side.

Anyways, I know this is a tangent and we are talking about Troy PAR. So back to PAR.

I have a Taipan X. Generally like it, though it has its quirks. Would be interested to see how it stacks up to the PAR. Pricing wise, looks like the PAR is more money - not sure if it is worth it, but given the original OP posting of needing to look for one - either the demand is high and the PAR is decent or they are not that many of them in circulation (I recently bought the last DP12 at my LGS, and I said these must sell like hotcakes, but the sales rep replied flatly - well, we are getting 2-3 hotcakes per shipment and they sit there for months).

I wonder if the PAR is robust and reliable enough to use in a HD situation...

Ramparts pricing was good and there was an extra discount for first responders from what I remember.

To add to thoughts on Sask's attempt to delay and interfere with the Liberals ideological waste of money wedge project, I think the best part of every govt or police agency, department that announces their opposition is that it makes a few sheep in the herd raise their head and think for a moment.... I can't remember a policy decision being implemented nationally that has this much objection!

If the media was half way reasonable they would be highlight this very unusual trend and not just try to play it off as " well the conservatives oppose....."

They try to paint it as the Conservatives oppose everything even when it's a good idea.... it's almost like they see what the democrats do down south and then project that affliction on to the Conservatives in Canada. I'm no psychologist but it seems like the media is projecting their own uncompromising progressive bias on to their perceived Conservative enemy.

Hopefully if the Provincal and Police Opposition continues to grow, or at least hold in the face of bribes from Team Carnage..... there will be a popular rising of anti Liberal sentiment and dumb ideological policies such as the carbon tax and Gun Grab will be eliminated or reversed down the road.

100% agree that now is the time to get as healthy and positive as possible... the future might come down to a roll of the dice and we need some postive energy to increase the chance of a lucky outcome!

From what I understand at this point the Troy is the winner for me hands down. Locks the bolt forward and accepts AR triggers.

Only downside I am hearing is some kind of issue with a rod that fails / can fail?

My understanding is that the rod failing is in the earlier versions and has been addressed with the latest models.

I have over a thousand rounds though my 223 and about a hundred through my 308 without issue.

I have both, the Maverick is identical to the Renegade but slightly larger. While my Renegade works excellent, while the Maverick seems to have a weak buffer spring and the bolt gets hung up on a full mag, it will also light strike sometime if the charging handle isn’t snug forward. I’m going to throw some washers or some kind of spacer into the buffer tube to increase the spring pressure, I’m almost certain that will fix the problems.

I had the same problem…3 quarters at the back of the buffer tube fixed the problem…and I bonus, I now have $0.75 of SHTF money stashed in my rifle (lol).

Definitely leaning towards the Troy at this point in that case. The AR triggers and pump mechanism that locks (which almost certainly will seem more intuitive for the way I shoot) tip the scales IMO.

I am also thinking of picking up a Benelli Nova Speed pump (had that itch for a while) which has a similar locking mechanism so it makes most sense to go with the Troy.
