I have an 11.5 in upper on my AR-15 atm but only have a crappy two-piece UTG rail system.
I plan on removing the front sight and attaching a low profile gas block and putting a 9 or 10in troy rail on it. (Not sure which would look better)

So far I have found the two designs I like are the new TRX design and the MRF. My question is, are these good rails? Does anyone have any experience with them? I believe they are free floating, correct me if I am wrong. I have looked around but cannot find anyone selling them?!

I have the MRF on my 16" with low profile gas block, it's very solid I like it but i'd like the TRX with the bolt on rails on the next build, I like the idea of only having rails where you need them.

I have both the TRX extreme 13.5 inch and a MRF-MX 10 inch. Both are free floats, I love both, the finish the lighter weight vs my previous YHM 10 inch. I don't seem to be the only one... Noveske, HK likes them too... ;) they are in my view one of the best for the money. They are available in at least 2 of the current supporting vendors advertised on CGN try fabsports and Armseast. The second doesn't always advertises them on his web site... try calling or email to see what they have in stock.

Alright, I'll have to give them a call on Monday or e-mail. Roughly how much should I be expecting to spend? And yah, I like the idea of the TRX and putting rails where I want them, also helps keep the weight down. Do any of you guys have the Tan coloured ones?

I am all black with Troy and Magpul covers. Fabsports had a Troy mrf 10inch FDE in stock last I checked.. A week or 2 maybe ago. He gets them regularly.

Thanks Mebiuspower you beat me to it ,(I have to say you take great pics by the way, you almost make me look like I know what i'm doing ;)

Yes that is mine . The barrel is a DEZ Arms 16" fluted twister barrel with their 3 port brake. I've since changed the vertical grip to a Magpul RVG.
