Curious if we will see them up here. Since it's pump action, there might not be a magazine limitation as well like the semi auto law we currently have. Might finally be able to go hunting with an AR-15.

It was done by Dlask several years ago - the gun was judged to be restricted as an AR variant, and since the magazines are designed for the AR, they're 5 rounds only. There's not much demand for a restricted pump action gun with 5 round mags.

Gadget mentioned that the mags for the export/Canadian of the new Troy rifle are proprietary for rifle with little interchangeable with the internal components. Should no no reason why this would be considered an AR variant.

Assuming the RCMP dont make a new rule up ofcourse. Probaly ban it on looks anyways.

See that upper and lower combo?

I'd bet dinars to doughboys the lab can duct tape an AR upper on there and get it to go bang just once.

If they can do it with the Akdal, I be this won't be a problem for them.

I love the idea, but I think the upper & lower issue will always be a problem for us when it comes to "Pseudo ARs"

I wonder how accurate it could be compared to a bolt action.

IF it's NR, it would be fun to hunt with something that has AR ergos and accessories and that cycles like a shotgun - aka: faster than a bolt action IMO.

Where did this duct tape upper/lower thing come from ?

It comes from the RCMP duct taping a non-ar15 upper to an ar15 lower, having it fire once, and calling the firearm the upper was designed for an AR15 variant, even though it was never manufactured to attach to an AR15 lower or duct taped to one.

Did this ever actually happen or is it a story? I keep seeing it posted so I'm curious.

Having watched a couple of Youtube videos on this, I am starting to wonder about the lower. The upper / bolt are no doubt different but it's advertised as taking AR15 mags and triggers ... but then again so does the ACR.

The akdal was definitely an abuse, I mean it doesn't even really look like an AR and has no operational likeness to one as far as I am aware...

The GSG .22cal rifle is in no way an MP5 other than by looks and it was deemed a variant...
