Troy T22 sport chassis

I just installed mine tonight. Dropped right in, piece of cake. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it I'm pretty stoked with it. One thing that I wished they did was drill holes in the top so you cold bolt the rail right to the receiver. I'm sure it wont be a issue, but would of been nice.

Where did you order it from?
My buddy got it at Reliable in Vancouver. Very nice chassis and shoots awesome.
First thing it needs is a better stock. That thing is rattles like hell. The stock is milspec size. He got a stainless barrel for it and it looks wicked! The stock 10/22 barrel looks out of place. Like the built in flip up sights a very nice touch.

I'd have to agree with you about bolting the rail to the top of the receiver ( there are 2 threaded holes already there ) and it is an issue with mine , no matter how tight I get the pinch bolts , locktite or not , they don't come loose but .... The 2 halves slowly start to separate after about 4 -6 banana mags and the stock 10 round . I had the same idea as you , bolting through the top rail , but I was hoping someone has a simpler idea ? The drilling through the top seems best to me but I'm a little worried about getting the holes in the receiver to line up , I guess I wouldn't have to drill 2 holes just 1 and taping a hole isn't rocket science but before I drill into this lovely piece of aluminum I thought I'd see what other Troy owners are experiencing . I have the tactical chassis with the quad rail not the sport from Eric at taccessories , if that helps . Don't get me wrong here guys I love this thing and I'll never sell it , already done a few mods , tac-sol barrel , compensator & mag release , scope and one piece mount . I might drill mine out, but I want to shoot it first. It shouldn't be that hard, if you assemble it with a stripped reciever you should be able to drill from the inside of the reciever, up into the top rail. The only thing I'm worried about is whether the top of the reciever is sitting tight against the bottom of the rail. If there's a gap in there it might be problematic.
Good point never thought about that , I emailed troy about this the first time it happend but I never heard back from them ( that was about a year ago ) . I was also thinking about the pinch bolts or rather just ahead of them were its kinda half moon shaped could be roughed up or ribbed somehow ?? Anyway hope you get out there and enjoy that fine new gun of yours and let us know how she runs !

My old 10/22 had the archangle 5.56 stock. That was fun, but this troy stock feels like its on a whole other level. I can't say excatly what it is, it just feels better being metal. If that makes sense.
Just brainstorming here. I suppose if all you need to do is stop the two segments from drifting apart. You could drill through the side where the upper clamps on to the lower, and thread it to take a stud for a sling swivle. I'm sure it won't be long before someone here comes up with a fix for it.

I gather this is the sport version? Also what is with the gap in the top rail close to the muzzle? Is it there for a purpose? Just curious I really like the chassis but that gap bugs me for some reason. TC
It's the sport version. The gap is where the buis lay when folded. I would of figured the gap between the pistol grip and trigger guard would bug you more. But that's a easy fix.
I ordered mine from wolverine, took about a month, great to deal with, sporter was about 330 shipped to me, Havn't got it yet, but it's on its way
Ordered mine from frontier Firearms. I love it but 3 things i willchange like the others I might screw the top rail. I will buy the hogue gap filler for behind the trigger and I will fit a short rail for a hand grip on the front my arms are to long to be confortable hold just the mag. Overall I recommend it to everyone but if you dont have the budget I love my AA556 to and its 100$ less but not the quality of the Troy unit.
Anyone put a short rail section on the front of the sporter to mount a bipod? I asked wolverine if they had anything that would work, but they did not. I have seen pics with a rail on there so I know it can be done, just not sure how yet, I hope it gets here this week.
