I have been looking with no luck so far. Do they even make a true short detachable 5 round mag for the SKS. I bought one by mail advertised as a 5 and it came in and was a 10 round. It wasn't even pinned:mad: - done now.

Marstar (wasn't company who sent me the 10 round) appears to stock a 5 round but has been out of stock for several weeks now.

Do they even make a nice short 5 round. If so where can i get one?

Thanks.

I have to ask, is it actually faster to swap five round magazines instead of just slapping five more rounds in with a stripper clip?

I know with more rounds, like 30 or something (if it was legal), stripper clips would be MUCH slower than swapping pre-loaded magazines. With five rounds? I think clips would be quicker.

probably not if the shooter is trained well and can load all 10 of the stripper, but don't ya just hate having to be careful with the 6th round that likes to roll off the top of the stack?

I know this is slightly off topic but when I was shooting my sks for the first time last week I was fitting 6 rounds in the magazine as opposed to five? Any one else had this happen? I didn't actually shoot six and I had a feeling that it might just jam trying to load the first round. Though it was entirely in the magazine

Yep. That's the plan. Just got it a month ago but I'm planning on taking
It to the store that I purchased it from an get it taken care of.
