Truck comparisson.. what would you choose?

my thoughts exactly, I've got a 3/4t Chev 4x4 8000lb winch with a honda 450 quad 2500lb winch and a 50cc 18" bar saw, fairly standard rig.



but to answer your question, or to pose more questions,

there are a lot of older suzuki jeeps kicking around, they are small and easy to work on, make great little hunting trucks.

how about those mazda trucks, I knew a contractor that had a B4400 (I think) 4x4 and he took it everywhere



Oh and get a winch :)
 
I drove around in a Nissan hardbody for 12 years-no prob.
Then I got a family and a camper so I got a fullsize Chevy POS,
Sold it and got a fullsize Ford POS. Now I have a fullsize Dodge POS.
Now I'm looking at a Toyota crew cab as I'm DONE with domestics:mad:


P.S. You don't need a 98 Ram 2500 CC 4x4 do you?
 
I've driven them all in the bush for work. Ford, Dodge, GM, Toyota etc.

I only buy Toyota's when I'm spending my own money.

I just sold my 1992 Toyota 4x4 Xtra cab for $7500. Try getting that much for a 1992 Ranger!

I have a F150 V6 5spd and it gets 23-25 mpg, and most of the smaller Rangers, Mazda's, and S10's with a V6 get less MPG and have a 1/4 of the payload. The Dodge Dakotas get far worse milage than any of the rest, and we had a few of them for company vehicles.

toyota hands down, just bought a 4x4 crew cab automatic (the manual crewcab only comes with a 60 inch box while the auto has 74 inch box) factory base model 34000, not that bad, it will go anywheres.
 
I got a 2002 explorer Sport Trac with a 6" lift, 255/85/16 Mud TA's( 33" tires), and a Warn 9.5TI winch, has never broken down or been unable to pull itself out of the worst #### I have seen when hunting. Plus it gets my game out with me every time as well.
 
Maybe I should have said it at the beginning, I cannot buy a new Toyota and take it hunting... just doesn't make sense. All the bush, scratches... and empty shells on the floor.....

I'm thinking about either '97 model or the 2000 4Runner. I like the looks of the old one, but most have over 250 000 km. The newer one is twice the money..... Decisions, decisions....
