just curious as to what you guys are getting....

in the winter in relativley hilly areas(highway speed) with a 302 V8 I'm getting 16MPG...not bad..I wonder what it will be in the summer:cool:

BTW..what is the term I'm looking for..I can't for the life of me remeber it....

2004 F-350 Super Duty, 6L diesel, I'm getting 14 - 16 MPG around town or short runs. On the highway, 20 MPG if I really 'behave'. Not quite as good as the 7.3L naturally aspirated I had in a previous truck. This one being an automatic VS the other being a 5 speed may be part of the difference.

wow...that almost makes up for the ###ness factor:runaway: :D ;)

that's funny, because I've towed out 3 pickups this winter already with it. 190,000kms on it and NOTHING has broke yet. have fun with your wonderfull domestic gas guzzler.

### is spending $$$$ on 16mpg ;)

Just picked up my first truck last fall (I have been so deprived) it's a 2000
F150 4.2 V6. Have not checked the fuel consumption other than I know it likes it's gas.
I will check it and report back.

My last person truck made 22mpg on the highway, it's a GMC 3/4 ton 4 door 4x4 6 liter. My current new truck (Personal) is the same thing but isn't broken in yet. It wouldn't do any more than 18, but will get better after 30,000-40000 klicks if it acts like the last one.
My employer has been tossing me the keys to 4bys by the three American makers for years. Given that they also came with a fuel card, mileage didn't matter much to me which was good because it was hard to keep gas in the Fords and Dodges. They did have big tanks though. Most of the Dodges were 360s, and Fords tended toward those 4 point whatevers. In general terms the Chevs burnt 2/3s of the fuel, or about 22 vrs 14-15mpg.

29mpg in my little rig, fits a whole moose too ;)

Suzuki Sidekick Sport 4dr, 4x4, 1.8ltr best damn vehicle I have ever had
My suzuki Grand Vitara, is rated for about that, I get just a little under. it is a 2.5L V6

The New XL-7s are also rated for 30 MPG and they are running a 3.6L V6, an engine originally designed for a caddy but re-engineered in Japan. Too Bad the new Suzi's are not true frame construction, with a low gear 4X4

I pay to drive a truck( its the principle of driving a truck that's first then its the gas mileage)... If I wanted to drive a suped up minivan I would...but then again I don't like being hit on by other guys:dancingbanana:

enjoy the SUV:p

not sure bout mpg but in my 2000 dakota 5spd (21 gallon tank?) i get anywhere from 500-625 kms per tank depending on my driving. average for city driving is 550kms. best ever was all highway drivin like a grandpa i got 700 i think. worst tank ever was under 400 and ALOT of rubber got layed that week:D

I've got a 97 Dakota...with the 3.8L v6 ....the mileage is horrible! about 15mpg. Considering how underpowed it is, the least it could do is get good mileage. Maybe being underpowered is the problem! My I-6 300 ford would get about 20mpg even after 300,000km.

Go figure.

Nic

*Edit*

Mine has a small tank too, costs about 55$ to fill it at todays prices 0.90$ I only get about 300-400 km.

I've got an 05 F-350 powerstroke and I hate it! Aside from the 12 or so times its been in the shop the last 18 months the milage is the ####s, around 16 mpg in the city and about 18 mpg highway.

Should have stayed with the Dodge, I had a 98 2500 with the Cummins, I couldn't get the truck stuck and city milage around 22-25 mpg and highway over 30 mpg.

Mercuryv8,
I was always impressed by the Ford inline 6, and I'm no even a Ford guy. They weren't the fastest thing on the road but at hunting and bush speeds they would seem to go forever without the gauge moving. They always seemed to have enough power for that.

I enjoyed watching my buddy trying to pull a trailer full of hardwood up a hill with his Suzuki Sidekick, as the traffic piled up behind him, and I vanished up the hill in front of him, pulling a bigger trailer behind my Jeep Cherokee. 4.0 liter. Acording to his wife, he was in first gear and fading when they hit the hill top.

20 mpg summer, maybe 22, doesn't matter what I'm doing in the Cherokee. Unless I'm speeding, then it's crappy.

Winter sucks, at 14 to 18mpg.
