Funny thing with these is the Toronto gun buyback wasn't accepting lowers. I guess they aren't commonly used by gang members in TO. I wonder why?
 
This will spark a massive revolt.

Part of me hopes it happens because now we have the internet, 2 million licensed owners, potentially millions of restricteds, multiple PC provincial governments, and a new generation that have armed themselves. All my friends have their PAL in their mid 20’s and we grew up in a liberal pressure cooker.

Bring it on, could be a watershed moment for rights.
 
We have to start showing our faces and get feet on the ground in every major city, people protest at everything under the sun so why aren't the pro gun groups organizing some protest days?

Protesting gives an optic and would make the rounds on social media and show we as a group of people are organized.
We have over 2 million gun owners but some of us think its a waste of time.....

We have to be careful as the media automatically portrays us and the Anti and Liberals opinion groomers spin us as deplorables.

And there have been those strange people that show up that people do not know that behave in extreme odd angry ways and become media 'sound bite' darlings with crazy rants that do not represent us.

On occasion there have been rally actions by other groups that have had strange young and middle age clean cut gentlemen wearing the same footwear Law Enforcement is wearing that take center strange in being arrested
then released without charges after causing a media spectacle..............


We see legal firearm owners and upstanding citizens making valid factual rational arguments and standing up for Canada and responsible personal liberties.

Media talking heads see and say 'Canadian NRA White Supremacists Extremists Scofflaws hurl threats and a few individuals attack authority. Police make arrests'

Except the protest would be spun by social media types to be use key phrases such as “old” “white” “man/men/males” “hillbilly/redneck/farmers” and that they are to be ignored.

ok that makes sense but we have to be able to show solidarity and as any other group we are law abiding citizens that want to safe guard not only our property but thousands upon thousands of jobs and businesses that provide the government with large amounts of taxes.

As long as we lurk in the shadows, we are faceless victims. We must stand up be counted.
I never pass up an opportunity to identify myself as a sporting clays shooter, then I take time to explain my sport. Ten times out of ten, people show a genuine interest, and ask lots of questions.

By doing that, I normalize the shooting sports as a a regular recreational activity like golf, or tenis or whatever.

Those who hide in the bushes because they are afraid they might get robbed do no one any favours.

I am a firearms owner, and a threat to no one.

This is what I'm trying to say but ineffectively lol
if we don't stand up and be counted now it may be over before we know it.
At what point do we decide we need to do more than send an email or a phone call?
I've come from the UK where everything is being stripped away from the citizens and it is heading the same way here Canada

Right.

This is a subject that needs management and control to present a group properly at a rally.

And prevent it being misrepresented or hijacked by bad elements.


To show solidarity we have to have solidarity and discipline. The orgs need to establish that without looking (again this is how it would be attacked) that they are organizing a private army.

The need for solidarity and discipline is that anybody that does not represent our norms and values stands out and is clearly separated from our group.

And that we have identified spokespeople AND ONLY THEY SPEAK FOR US.

Anybody else says they are happy to be there, they love Canada and our hobby and refer the interviewer to the Org Spokespeople for any questions.

Its simple but needs to be done for an effective rally

Rally 101

Bring absolutely not even a picture of a firearm or anything firearm related.

1 Show up on time.
2 Wear street cloths and presentably groomed.
3 Bring significant others and children.
4 Bring Canadian flags.
5 Follow instructions from the Org organizers.
6 No insulting, violent or other speech or action such as that which identifies any minority group etc etc
7 Immediately move away from anyone who violates rule 6) to isolate them and split them from our members
8 No opinion or attempts to answer media questions other than referring them to the organizations, organizers, spokespeople and official media releases and information sheets

Otherwise simple disruption and Agitation Propaganda tactics will take us down.

Now the point is not to moan and groan that the orgs are not doing this, did not do this, are not effective.

Just let them know that we need to make our presence felt and that this is an opportunity where we need their management to make it effective.

When you show up at a rally and are interviewed tell them what you are besides a gun owner. For example for me,"i am a registered nurse a father and a husband, is the government telling me they cant trust me with my own property?"
It humanizes you into a person instead of a caricature of a gun owner.
