Hi Guys
Im thinking of purchasing this barrel for my Stag build i know its cheap and therefore not expecting it to be a tack driver. Has anyone used this barrel before ? and if so what are your opinions.

Most modern barrels are very good, being produced on CNC machines. Your setup should be able to shoot at least MOA I would suspect with this barrel. BTW, you can hotlink TNA since they're a sponsor here.

IMO you should spend a few bucks more and get a faxon big gunner or pencil. That unit is going to put you close to 9lbs for the rifle without optics.

FOr about 100 bucks more you can get a pencil barrel and be much lighter. If you dont care about carrying the rifle around then it will be fine.

I had a CNA barrel chambered in 6.5 Grendel, I got it off the EE, butIt was originally bought from TNA, maybe the same barrel as their TNA barrel?
Anyway, it was shooting sub MOA with my hand loads.

Not bad for $120 shipped:)

Pencil barrels suck for heavy fire tho...kinda what happens when you are using a nice semi auto IMO haha

Maybe in the 80s but pencil barrels now do quite fine. check out the links bellow. IMO way to many people overestimate how much ammo they will be putting through it. How many times have you been out and dumped 50+ rounds then laid down prone and needed 1moa accuracy? If you are building a bench rest or PRS gun then fine but if you ever plan to carry it and shoot offhand having a 12 lb rifle sucks. I made the same mistake on my first stag built it with a heavy barrel it was like 11+ lbs with an optic and sucked to shoot.

I have a 308 faxon that shoots around 1 moa cold and only shifts about .5moa after 30-40 round dumps. If you are worried step up to the gunner profile. My 6.5 in that profile doesn't seem to move at all an weighs .5 lb more. Once I got it into the 8lb range it was a joy and lets face it you are not mag dumping prone from a rest. Your shooting offhand and then a .5moa shift really isnt as big of a deal.

YMMV

FYI - Here is a link to my budget lightweight build if it helps. Spend a bit more on the barrel and less on the stock and handguard.
