True north rifle....soon as I heard it wasn't made in Canada I stopped reading. Just a sales gimmick

I like the "retro" lines and the wood finish,but,the cerakote should have been satin black instead of forest green. It looks a little weird. I've never handled one,so,I don't know about the bolt slop. That would be a deal breaker for me.

When someone says "synthetic" would be better, they don't nessesarily mean "plastic". If you're going to weatherproof the metal, why stop there?

I like them, but am reminded that they are made in Japan. I think if we are going to flaunt a gun for Canadians, shouldn't it be made in Canada?

When I say plastic I mean injection molded as all Vanguards are except the accuguard. Who says wood is not weather resistant. There are thousands of rifles with good condition wood stocks from 100 years ago. Look at the Lee Enfield rifles that were used in the wars. I doubt if there is any synthetic that could handle the punishment they received.
Wood to me looks and fells better. Yes I have had good synthetics. About half a dozen with the Brown pounder on them Wildcat stocks and Mpi. but I still prefer wood unless weight is an issue.

Not near as nice as Rob's Ross but there are 1000s of these Long Branch in Canada. Made in Canada for CDNs. I can't imagine any rifle more "Canadian".

Note the classic bubba forend. Looks like a CDN beaver chewed off the forend. No numbers match but does have the RCAF stamp on the butt. 2 groove bbl.

Don`t personally care for it but thats just me,I am sure some will love it......glad there are so many options in the vanguard line.
