TRUMP is getting rid of ITAR!

You want to talk about something Trump might have actually had a hand in? How about the current plan to gut the Migratory Bird Act? Under the new rules, companies will only be liable for purposely killing birds.

BP got fined $100M for the birds that died due to the deepwater horizon accident. Under proposed changes, their fine would have been $0 because they didn't purposely kill the birds.

did the 100M they were fined go directly to creating more birds and repairing bird habitat? or did it just go in to "general revenue" like it usually does LOL
I'm all for fining folks for the damages they do but lets be real...… the birds probably saw 1% of the benefit of that 100M and a whole lot of people lined their pockets with the other 99%

One of the things about being president that must really bug Trump is that as POTUS he gets a lot more public scrutiny than he ever did as a reality television personality and a business man, even with his many publicity-attracting business failures. He couldn't get out secretly to chase women of questionable virtue or have them come over for a visit. It would fast become news. As a result he's not banging anything except his head against the wall as he thinks of his wife sleeping in another bedroom altogether. He's left with late night tweeting, KFC, and cheeseburgers. Given his behaviour, a landslide, other than getting buried in one, and getting spanked again are only in his fantasies. ;)

This post is not going to age well

I imagine you arent tuned into politics cuz if you are and that's what you think is going on... yikes...

we get to see the results of media brain washing , these people can't help themselves. it's a pavlovian response. say the word trump and they go out of control, even when it has nothing to do with the topic.

I have no idea. But even if it was 1%, that still beats 0%. Hell, even if zero of that money went towards the birds, the fact the fines exist encourages industry to mitigate bird deaths. Now, they don't have to do ANYTHING mitigation related, they just can't purposely kill them. I expect to see a huge increase in the number of birds landing/dying in tailing ponds as the companies will no longer be responsible for that if these changes occur.

The changes will be minimal, and it won't be a free for all like some people are dreaming of.

Suther, he's also removed most of the restrictions on landmine use by US Forces as of today. Because, that was necessary?

In a perfect world the President of the US and the dumbest person in the US would be two different people.

Will certainly make illegal border crossing more dangerous. BOOM!

BOOOM SHAKALAKALAKA.............too funny!

Don't mind the negative comments-"Stupid is as Stupid Does" Seems to be an awful amount of leftys on this site, ignore these fools.
holy cow guys, I was just passing on info I seen somewhere else! I don't care for trump nor do I know the history of who started the change!
but what I do know is that we Canadians might see alittle savings in the pocket book! and ease of getting parts!

playing the devil's advocate here: wind farms and solar (mirror type) power-plants are currently exempt from these charges.
because they are green

Currently the Village idiot and the Prime minister are the same person.

Since Obama brought in measures that make it difficult for Canadians I can't believe Trump hasn't rescinded them.

I am kind of hoping Bernie gets the Dem's nomination then Trump will have a clear run for another four!

I hope ITAR changes, good for them, good for us.

Agreed. And windfarms should be on the hook per carcass as well. THAT'S how you make money off bird deaths.
