Anyone have any experience with these shotguns? Anyone own one? They look pretty neat, and they're non-restricted. I'd love to hear some first hand accounts of them.

A living dead post, maybe useful for those who search through the search engine.

My friend bought one of those and so far his experience can be explain into one word: problems! I went tonight to shoot with him. I fired 3 slugs and than there was a stopage. It seems to be within his average with the weapon so far. With this shotgun every stoppage is a major stoppage. It is very hard to access the chamber and to clear stoppages. After 30 minutes of trying to extract the stuck fired cartridge, we decided to wait home. It tooks us 2 hours to strip completely the shotgun.

What a complex beast. I am not a gunsmith, but I have played with more than 20 type of rifles. This shotgun is something. When you pump, you actually pump the barrel plus a number of tiny pieces (many which we cant figure their uses). This is FAR from the simplicity of a Vz-58, an M4 or a M14. There is more pieces below the simple pump of this shotgun than a whole 870. There is 4 diagrams in the handbook to show all the bits and pieces.

My friend did not had the possibility of shooting a lot with the weapon. He had stoppages every so often, but yet, some key pieces are starting to be damage because there is friction of plastic on metal. The whole pump is in plastic and it starts crumbling because it hits metal and move metal pieces.

I wonder if the Kel Tec will be as complex. If so, I will definetly pass my turn. And I would definetly not buy a 2000$+ firearm, like the Neostead, that has so many possibility of going wrong. It is nice, ###y, hold 13 rounds, but it jams every 5 rounds... Not my type of firearm.

Possibly my friend has a lemon, but the complexity of this firearm stays too high. To buy only if you wich to contemplate the engineering skills required to create this work of art. And to be treated as such: a work of art.

Avec respect,

S
