Curious what the going rate for a TRW parts kit is?

To be clear, this is everything to complete a rifle but the receiver...... Stock, barrel, bolt etc.

I see armtac has mixed parts kits for $1050, TRW kits for $1150 (out of stock) but they are with-out bolt, stocks and barrels.....

Cheers!

Well, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay you for it.
In the past, including very recently, I've bought 100% complete minus receiver parts rifles for 600 up to 1200 (USGI parts rifles)
Personally, I wouldn't pay armtac prices for incomplete kits (sorry and no offense meant chris).
BUT I think a fair ballpark for a complete TRW set, should start at about 1200 and depending on condition, up to 1750.00 (with stock and magazine all mint parts, barrel muzzle and throat with minimal erosion)
And last, don't take my opinion on this as anything more than just that, my opinion LOL
As an aside, I need a usgi bolt for a buddy's build LOL

I read your thread on the U.S. M14 forum. Very interesting!

Thanks for the info 45!

I was kinda feeling the same way about Armtac's prices.... I ordered a USGI parts kit from LRB via an importer back in late August.... Still no parts, but they are held up on the US side waiting on an approval.... But "if" I get my parts, I'll have a complete parts kit sans receiver for less than Armtac's price of a partial kit.

If this deal pans out, I may have an extra NIB LRB bolt in the parts bin.....

I put in an offer....

It's a complete 12/3 converted auto rifle. I don't have a 12/3.

I don't think the offer was high enough..... Or; the current "owner" was opposed to my buying it, tearing it apart and turning in the receiver over for destruction....

There were 2 or 3 others (with 12-3 licences) looking at it as well, iirc.

If (big if) I get it, there will be pics! lol

I read your thread over on the US forum as well. Really cool rifle there. I hope you get it! I'm not normally much for keeping things traditional but I think that's one build that I'd try and re-do as is, obviously without the prohib receiver. What kind of build were you thinking?

Pretty much exactly that....

Vulcan Refinishing (in Ontario) will even put a "correct" heel stamp on a Chinese receiver..... They anneal the receiver, blank, engrave heelstamp and reheat-treat the receiver. They then offer a plethora of coatings from Parkerizing, bluing to cerkote etc.....

But I believe that it's all "dust" in the wind at this point!
