Don't ask me about this, I don't know!

8.5 lbs all up? My guess is they hogged out the stock just to get it to that weight. With that much weight out front I can only imagine it swings like a boat anchor.

Pass

This abortion should not be in the sporting and hunting threads. With 18 1/2" barrels it's designed for home defense. Black and Green forum.

They make a 28 inch barreled version called the Triple Crown, the 18.5 inch barrel is the Triple Threat. I know a couple places in Ontario that carry em so they can't be all that bad.

Just becasue stores sell them and people buy them doesn't mean they aren't bad. People bought Pacers, Matadors, Edsels and Ladas.

So let's see, if the 18.5" barreled version weighs 8.5 pounds, what would the 28" barreled version tip the scales at.....10 pounds? Yup, all bad! lol

Careful about insulting Edsels there. My Dad owned a blue and white Edsel Pacer with large displacement V8.

I see the Edsel as a better car than this 3 barreled monster is a useful shotgun.

I didn't ask to be insulted for pointing something out Canvas and just so you know I happened to find a place in Ajax that stocks the 28 inch barreled version, Firearms outlet Canada. I have dealt with them half a dozen times and they are good guys who know their stuff and according to their website the 28 inch barreled version is 8.7 pounds. My 870 express weighs a flat 8 pounds and i can only run 1 choke at a time. The Chiappa website also says the 28 inch barreled version weighs 8.7 pounds.

And in response to your crack about "stores sell them and people buy them doesn't mean they aren't bad", I'm no marketing guy but I would think if there wasn't a demand or profit to be made from them they wouldn't sell. I happened to think for a long time that single barrel break actions were useless but I bought a beautiful old Cooey 840 16 gauge that I love now.

Wulfgard, if you think I was insulting you, you are wrong. I was insulting the gun. And I was pointing out that people regularly buy dumb stuff, so the fact that people may buy it is no definition of quality or value. And, having sold stuff to retailers for 35 years and listened (and seen) their buying mistakes, please know that retailers often regret their purchases when the product doesn't move to the consumer.

But most importantly, you are taking this way too seriously. Lighten up man! I took the 8.5 pound number from BigUglyMan who also compared it to a boat anchor! Maybe you have a Trabant and that's what you really took offense to????

Jeez!
