Try this and make a difference

I have seen an old fella in our town do stuff for young shooters that others thought was nuts, like selling a father a rifle for his kid that was undervalued about $300!
"Hell, I'd give you $500 for it"

" Selling it is not the point, I don't need the money. It''s getting someone started in shooting thhat is the point" is the usual reply .

Old badger has continually shown his generosity to new shooters and reloaders, especially if they are a little strapped for funds.

Funny thhing is, he has only been "stung" by those making "big bucks"!:eek:
Go figure.

My hat is off to him and those others that do stuff like this.

Back on the old forum, I made a suggestion that we should have something like a "collector's attic" on the estand, where items we have lying around could be given for free, or plus shipping. This would help out and encourage new shooters/hunters and collectors, and would be a really nice gesture.
I got this idea from another forum. There are some rules, one is that a person cannot receive more than one item per month, and that all donors and receivers be named on the post, to discourage greed. Easier than it seems to set up something like that.
Idea never took off, not much support for it I think because changes were being made to the forum, etc...
