Trying to decide between a two pistols

Hi I'm going to be going for my RPAL shorty and I'm trying to decide between the PX4 Storm or Sig P229R in 9mm. Would any body care to weigh in on preference, pros or cons.
 
Tiber I thought of buying a PX4 a while back, it felt nice and comfortable in my hand, I liked the looks of the gun and I wanted it to match my CX4 but after talking to several people that own them I changed my mind the most notable complaint was the lack of accuracy at ranges of 20 yards and more.
 
1Glockaholic, thank you for the heads up, I liked the look of the PX4 should probably do more homework before dropping cash on it. I'm also considering the P226, it seems (correct me if I'm wrong) a little cheapper that than the P229. Any opinion on the difference between the P226 and P229?

That is easy, I love Beretta but I cannot see the PX4 storm is a better gun than any Sig, unless you are you are after a 92FS. But I am not a Sig person either.

I've got a Sig P-226 in 40 and love it. Check on Sig's website to see the exact differences. I think the P-229's just newer, see if you like the feel of the 226 and if it seems good I don't really see any major advantage of the P-229 over the P-226 except I think they have adjustable grip sizes.
 
I own a Sig P229R and have had no trouble with it. In fact, I have found it to be an excellent pistol for competition. Had I the option of lawful concealed carry, it would be at the top of the list.

The firearm is slightly shorter than the P226 in height and length, weighs a bit less and handles and operates about the same. The sight radius is a bit shorter, but the firearm is much more concealable and well as handy in the draw.

I have found that the P229R handles recoil better than the P226 firing the same caliber. One more thing.... The 229 will take 226 mags with no reduction in function.
 
Alright I think I got my opinion sorted out for now until I can get to the shop and get a look and feel in person. I'm thinking P229 Elite in 9mm. The wood trim looks really nice too. To everyone who's contributed thank you I'll update when I actually get to getting it.
 
Well got down to the store and took a gander and got a feel for the P229 and P226 and settled on the P226 in 9mm with rail and 3 dot night sight. Now I just have to pass the course! Gotta love putting the cart before the horse.
 
I have owned both pistols. My recommendation is to go with the Sig. Polymer is okay for the casual shooter but you can't beat steel for longevity. I like Berettas for their looks but in the end Sigs are more accurate out of the box and their overall reliability is better.
