I'm looking for my first 22, I've narrowed it down to two very different guns. Henry 22 and the Ruger 10/22, i like them both and will probably own both at some point, what should I buy first?

Must be a PC supporter If you cant figure out my post.
10/22 = swap everything either because you can or because it doesnt group out of the box.
Henry has a small AR7 or good little lever actions.
Take your pick.

henry it teaches you to conserve ammo and make your shots count, the quality is fantastic also,

Actually the 10/22 teaches how to conserve Ammo..... As your packing up after a session you realize just how much you've shot and probably start to cry a little! Lol

I also own a Ruger American 5.56 and two remington 12 ga, I want to keep the iron sights, I do like the idea of modifying the gun however after hours of you tube reviews and reading the different posts in here. I think the accuracy and craftsmanship of the Henry has won me over.

I have a 10/22 and a Henry , like them both , the Henry is actually in 17hmr . The 10/22 was my first and you can't go wrong with one of them . Lots of fun , big mag dumps , cheap gun and huge accessory potential .
The Henry is pretty fun for gopher whacking though !

I have a Mini bolt for my daughter to shoot - great little accurate 22 - awesome for kids - the thing I do not like about the Henry lever actions it having to load the tube - just not in my liking - Henry does offer exceptional customer service.

lol - That's what I like about it!! No loading gate, pop the tube out, dump in as many as you can, then if you don't shoot them all, take the tube out, dump em out, work the lever ONCE to remove anything in the chamber VS load through a gate and lever each and every round out if you don't shoot them all .. but really .. does anyone ever NOT shoot all the rounds loaded??

I hear ya - just something I never liked - love your bi line thought

Kids who Hunt, Trap, and Fish don't mug little old Ladies

Have seen it on a couple bumper stickers around town and really like the message..

I get the thoughts that the 10-22 now a days is the Cooey 39 of days of yore.
There are better examples out there.
Then again, I wore Basket Masters in elementary school just like the rest of the
kids.
