I realized that there are some things that I need to let go of so have decided to sell some of the rifles I have not shot in over 5 years. I came across this real nice Winchester 1894 in 32 spl with 26" barrel with sights that look to be original.

So problem starts when I try and figure out what would be fair value of this rifle? I really can't find anything online except for couple references on American sites where this type of rifle sold for excess of $4k and I'm not convinced that these are realistic prices. I have attached a couple pictures here and plan to take some better ones over next couple days outside with the good weather coming. The couple negatives that I see is a light scratch on the right side of the receiver and a small chip out of the left side of the forestock (tried to capture these flaws in the pics. Other than that rifle looks pretty amazing!

If you can guide me to a od reference site or someone who knows how to value these rifles, I would be immensely grateful 20210203_162446.jpg20210203_162501.jpg20210203_162635.jpg20210203_162748.jpg20210203_162527.jpg

Forgive my ignorance as there are odd small things that heavily affect Winchester values. But it appears to be a rifle length Winchester 1894 in 32ws with a chipped forend and probably reblued(I find it hard to believe with the ease at which 94s lose there blueing that one has not been reblued unless the rest of the gun is 99% condition).

I’d post it for 500-800. 32ws hurts the value imo. It will just never be a 30-30 rifle with plentiful ammo. Kind of a stupid gun. The whole point and popularity of Winchester 94s is a 20” lightweight 30-30. A long heavy not 30-30 but 30-30 ballistics rifle runs completely counter to why the 94 is loved. But each to there own.

As already said the blueing is just too good, a reblue. The wood looks to be refinished. The damage to the wood doesn’t match. I believe the rifle has been refinished. The full rifle length barrels I like better and normally are more accurate than the carbine. Value $600.

If that blueing on receiver is as pink as it looks in picture 300$ not worth 800$ being refinished at all

It sure looks like a re-blued/refinished rifle to me... so who looks for a 32 Winchester for a shooter? I would guess you might get $400... I wouldn't pay more.

Thanks to all for your feedback! I will hang on to this and perhaps just keep it as a shooter as I only have a couple 1894 rifles (this and the 1952 30-30 in the background). All my other 1894's are carbines so maybe I'll start selling some of those based on the feedback here.

Cheers and stay safe !

Regardless of the posts posted.
I will guarantee you if you posted that in the EE for $400, it would be gone in minutes.
If not, send me a p.m.

I'm also bewildered by the inflation of the prices of old shooters.
Yours is worth more than the offered prices in parts.
And some will scoop these up and do as such.

As a foot note, my dad waaaaaaaaay back yonder purchased a 21H for me
for $112.50.
Dad thought it was worth $110 and the seller figured $115.
They split the change as gentlemen would do.

I agree with Looky. Other than the small meaningless ding to the fore-stock, that is a very fine representation of an early 94'. I will say, that personally, I do like my old guns to look well used, actually the more "rode hard & put away wet" they are the better...but that shouldn't devalue someone else's fine looking rifle...even though it is used, if a new Japchester 94' is upwards of 14-$1,700 depending on model, that rifle should easily bring a grand.
