Adrian you are the one who made it personal... We were discussing a technical subject and you sounded off... (By the way it's d-e-n-S-i-t-y). I have tried Heavy shot loads and patterned many #6 loads in heavy shot also... And of course they are denser, do to the higher shot count, but the smaller pellets also loose energy faster... For out guns, we settled on #5 as the best combination of pattern and energy... The 10 lethal hits rule did not come from a turkey course... It came from wanting one shot kills and not pushing the yardage too far with a given gun/choke/load combo... Of course one or two pellets can kill a bird... But I use the 10 shot count per distance rule to make sure that the bird will die if there happens to be a hole in the pattern, which can happen from hitting grass or twigs or even just an odd pellet column... I don't shoot 3 1/2" because I have to... As I said, I like calling gobblers close and all but one of my birds has been under 20 yards... Pretty much any load would have killed them... I shoot 3 1/2" and know the limits of my gun because someday, I might have a boss tom hang up, and I will know what I can and can't do if that happens...
P.S - you seem to be trying to set yourself up as the quintessential expert... But there are just too many experienced, knowledgeable folks around here... It would be best to just state your opinion and let it stand... No need to get personal or domineering.
Have a good day... Hope you have a good turkey season.
