i bought the sks because the gun and ammo was fairly inexpensive, but works gone crazy and i havent been able to shoot it in over a year now, it just sits in the safe

what do you guys think is a fair price for a lightly used russian sks and the remainder of the crate of ammo i bought with it (830 rounds) ?

Probably not as much as you paid for it unfortunatley. Check the westrifle banner above and see what he is selling for. Thats your competion.

And Marstar has a sale on now...buy a case of ammo and get a sks for 75 bucks

$354 plus tax and shipping for 1400 rounds and a sks

Yes................unfortunately over the last year to eighteen months the price of secondhand firearms and even new, has dropped due to the tight money situation.

Just watch the EE and you see certain listings that are BTT time after time with no price change and they never seem to sell while others are sold within minutes. Certain sellers are still trying to get yesterday prices!!!

It all depends on how bad you wish to sell you product.

I would buy for 200 on the spot, but shipping ammo and rifle separate would kill the price.
Even 300 I would think would go quick if a local sale.

Where are you located? Your best bet is a local sale for the ammo and maybe shipping for the gun. I would suggest anywhere up to 165 or so for the gun and one of our sponsors has them for 165 on their website.

Put it away until you have time to shoot it!

This is the best advice. The ammo and rifle aren't valuable for resale, and if you're working lots you don't need the money. Save it for a camping weekend and blast it all off! Stored properly that rifle and ammo can wait another 50 years for you to have time.

mhowarth, i'm in uxbridge ontario

geoff B, the problem is when i have time to shoot its at my gun club, which does not allow rifle ammunition, so i would prefer to free up the money and buy a rifle i can shoot both up north and at my gun club, like a lever action 357, and seeing i load my own as well as cast bullets i can make ammo cheaper then milsurp

canadianAR, if you would buy the package for 200 on the sport i'm located in southern ontario as well, so send me a private message and we'll try to work out a deal

Stick a SKS in your safe as cheap insurance in case the feds ever decide to change the reg's on centerfire semi's when they axe the registry. (That's more than just a rumor.) Not a lot of $$ tied up in one, and it's not like they go bad:)

I expect you can sell that ammo alone for around 140. The gun is pretty common now, probably get around 140-150 locally if in good shape. My advice, keep it or sell seperately.

Just stash eveything in corner until you are less busy, it is worth nothing almost after shipping and when you come around you will pay 3 or 4 time more to get back into it... JP.

:agree:

I kept my 4" Security Six when I wasn't doing any shooting and now I can get a nice 4" S&W for a stupid price. I really regret selling my FAL! With hindsight that was just dumb :bangHead:.

Package is worth $300 minimum but with the ammo, it may take a while to sell together.

That SKS Marstar is selling is Chinese btw, not Russian, with the crate of ammo, shipping and HST, price will be much higher. I sold a crate and a Russian SKS last month local for $400.
