"Isn't the Czeck stuff too hot for the pistol? It's for the sub machine guns right?"

No, there is no such thing as "Hot Sub-Gun Only" 7.62x25 ammo, it was all made for both pistol and SMG use.

Yes Checz tok ammo is usually hotter than any other country of origin, if it comes on stripper clips its mainly meant for smg vz23, sa25. However Tokarev pistols are robust and will digest it no problem. If its BXN steel cased green then those are in my opinion the hottest stuff.
Steel cases are hard on the action so if there is choice between brass and steel case, I'd take brass.

Probably, yeah. Steel cased and cored is generally the norm for surplus.

I'd assume yes by default, and hope to be surprised with a no once you get it.

I have yet to see any evidence of steel cases being harder on a firearm, especially a Russian firearm where almost all their surplus ammo is steel cased.

I might have to pick up another case, good price, as with all surplus, buy it cheap stack it deep!

Well Its from experience. Steel is harder material than brass. But when firearm like tt33 is to fire 2000 rds in its lifespan as design resource before it fails. And user, me fired 9000 rds of steel cased rounds before my slide cracked, its kind of hard to complain about it being hard on the action.
