There were some firearms in Communist block armies that were marked with the local word for "exercies". These firearms were designed specifically for the purpose of training soldiers in the use of these firearms that would later be issued to them.
The word "exerciciu" is spanish for "exercise". It might have been a Cuban trainingTokarev .
I'll be the first to admit that I know very little about Toks and even less about Romanian but I can't resist a Google challenge. Couldn't find too many hits on either word, but I did find this page dealing with M91/30 and M44 rifles. According to them, "The "EXERCITIU" mark is found on rifles that seem to have been used specifically for training purposes only. These rifles are easily recognized by the black paint on the entire butt of the stock. They are not intended to be fired since the firing pin is clipped and many times parts critical to their proper function are missing."
"Exercitiu"(read out exercitziu) means practice or training in Romanian. I have used those back in the old country, when I trained with the Militia. It should be from the 50's or even 60's. Nobody liked them.
