TT-33 Firing pin retaining pin

Is there something that needs to be done to the retaining pin to keep it from coming loose?

Got a TT-33 and thought the pin was just worn - so I got a couple of replacements ... same thing it won;t just work it's way loose if the hammer is resting on the pin, it will actually fall about half way out of the slide ....

What pin is that? I have never had anything come loose on my TT.

Have you tried some lock tite?

the firing pin retaining pin - that goes through the slide left to right...

When I got the gun it was falling loose - the replacement is too... :(

since the way it works just sitting in a slot on the firing pin preventing it from going too far forward or back - the pin hits it quite hard - lock tite will wear down pretty quickly

[I had a trimmed down pop rivet in there for a while - which did work, but it got positively mangled by the firing pin - big bend in it!!

Remember, first thing dealing with Tokarev troubles is the use of a hammer. Grab a pin with needle nose pliers in the middle, put one end on flat hard surfase and hammer it untill desired flare obtained at both ends. Make slotted end flared less, spread and insert gently in to its proper place. Repeat if necessarry untill fixed.

Yes, just peen the pin to expand the ends as stated. If that doesn't work the hole must be pretty large. Be careful if you use loctite since it can migrate, potentially freezing the firing pin in a dangerous position...
 
I broke the split pin on mine. Couldn't find a roll pin that fit so I bought a replacement. Russian pin on a Polish gun didn't fit, like yours the pin was way to small for the hole. I know it's not a fix everyone can do but I measured the hole in the slide and made a new pin to be a prefect (-.0001" to -.0002") fit. it's not prefect but thats my fault I was going to make another.

If you have a way to measure the hole in the slide (pins work best) I would be willing to make another and send it to you.
