TT-33 Hammer Bite

^ Those grips would be nice, I have seen them for sale but that was years ago. I did place an order for the Hogue grip. For the price it's worth a shot.

I have big hands, the grip is almost too short so I grip it high to compensate. You can see here that my hand contacts the hammer when it's cocked. The hammer comes down even farther when the gun cycles which is causing the bite. Sounds like my only option is to try an aftermarket grip or change how I'm holding it.

Thanks- as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. I really couldn't picture it.

I'm not operator enough for gloves.

I wear shooting gloves for my hard kicking .454 Casull. I also wear them on biters like my Astra Constable (PPK clone) and AMT Backup.

They're those Uncle Mike's with the gel in the palm and a wrist wrap. It sure helps with the vicious .454 Casull recoil.

X2. I'll wear gloves if I'm shooting a bunch of .44 Rem Mag...it does help with the wrist pounding. Operators need not apply.

I wish I had some of those recoil absorbing gloves when I owned a .454. That gun was nearly as painful for the user as it was for the target.

I have experienced the bite as well, even with gloves it split the webbing on them. I tend to grip high as possible as it makes the bore axis low as it can in your hand and helps manage the recoil for faster follow up shots. It's too bad it wasn't designed with a little bit of a beaver tail.

I have a medium large hand. I bought these on ebay for about $19.00 us a pair. Had them mailed to a friend in USA.

They offer two models. One has a cut out for cheesy safety on the Norinco.

I ended up just selling it. Disappointing as it was a great gun for the money. I tried a few different grips and none worked. My hands are just too big.
