Interesting, i have since removed it and found it seems to fit quiet better and alot comfier without it. Perhaps this was a reason, i can see why in WW2 they wanted it on so soldier's had it attached incase they fell or were knocked over by a blast/ explosion. But for just plinking around at the range it is not needed, Not sure if it's a Tula or what it is but it was manufactured in 1945 , will be looking into it more soon forsure
Probably a circle with a triangle inside showed on the barrell, if so it is a Ishesvk arsenal
