I've never tried 9x19 in a 7,62x25 chamber with live ammunition, but I did try it with snap caps: the slide locked completely with a round jammed under the extractor and in the chamber. Took a bit of light pounding to get it apart.
The cartridge specifications of the two rounds are nearly identical in diameter (less than 0,2mm or a few thou); you will fit the same number of rounds in a magazine.
The 7,62 has a neck and shoulder, but the main body of the case is nearly the same length as the straight sides of the 9. The projectiles are different sizes, the Parabellum is obviously almost 1,5mm wider. This means it will fit in the Tokarev chamber, but the wider bullet will jam in the necked portion and/or the lands of the rifling.
You'd have more luck going in reverse: the neck of the Russian round might stick into the barrel of a nine past the chamber.
I would never attempt to make this a live fire experiment.
sounds like it would all go bad real quick, was just commenting that it sounded like to many issues to be the tok. ie: 10 round mags ,fail to eject..
TT-33 is a solid simple pistol with limited amount of parts , have 5 of them and they all go bang.. only problem i have ever had was ammo related or physical damage.
had a batch of ammo that would go click... wait for it sssssssssssss bang,
