Hi all,
I remember reading on some message board that it's not advisable to use Czech surplus 7.62x25 in Tokarev TT33.
Someone claimed that Czech surplus ammo was developed for CZ pistols and have hotter loads and higher projectile velocity.
It was mentioned also that TT might be destroyed after about 400 rounds of Czech surplus ammo.

Could anyone comment from first hand experience?
And, if it's true, who sells commercial 7.62x25mm?
Thanks.

I think I found the answer: h t tp://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1584587&postcount=11

Further to the numerous requests for additional data on our 7.62x25 ammunition....
I'll try to clear up most of your questions here;
1) Yes it it military surplus
2) Yes it is corrosive
3) Yes it is on stripper clips, see our site for pictures

4) The bullet is copper wash steel jacket with a lead core.
5) We were provided with detailed reports from the Czech MOD but decided to conduct own comparison tests.

The S&B military ball we just received averaged 1475fps
The Norinco commercial averaged 1425fps
Yugoslav current military ball (Unis) averaged 1425fps
Yugoslav commercial (Prvi Partizan) averaged 1425fps

As you can clearly see ALL of the above are well below maximum loads....

ALL rounds were fired from a TT pistol....

Ive been using noting but surplus... 1951 dated...

I pull the trigger it goes bang !!!

Sounds to me some people dont know what they are posting....

I guess the only reccomendation is to wash everything according to corrosive-ammo-standards...

Hey Tucson, what do you actually wash to clean the corrosive stuff? (I have a Tok but still have to shoot it - soon I hope)
