Soooo, I have a new to me 1944 (ugly stenciled) Tt33. The others I have, have a pin to punch out to remove the firing pin. This one has a pin as well, but has a small slot in one side of the pin (ejection side) while the other side is smooth. Turing the small flat head slot (looks as if it is supposed to be a screw), you can see the entire pin rotate on the other side. I'm assuming it's still just a pin to be tapped out, but before I do, is there something I'm missing? Does it push out one direction or the other? Neither side looks peened over. Sorry no pics! Thanks in advance!

Update, thanks for pointing out it was a split pin, I'm not in the best lighting. Melted some clp past in there and tapped out easy with a regular pin punch. Thanks for everyone's help, it's nice to be a part of an online community that spends there Friday nights discussing firearms! Cheers!

A regular flat ended punch will push it through but you're damaging the head of the split portion at the same time and reducing its ability to hold for the future.

It's super simple to grind or file a ( sort of shape in the end of a pin punch so that the lips tend to pinch the ears of the split pin closed while it's being punched through. Then dedicate that modified punch to this job. If you tinker much with your guns you'll quickly find that you amass a tidy little collection of such modified tools so you can do such jobs easier or correctly. And that's the way it should be.
