TT33 mag issues

I just received my TT33 on Friday. I've noticed that when the slide is forward the magazine drops out freely . . . but when the slide is locked back something causes the magazine to bind slightly, enough that you have to pull on the magazine to get it out. I ordered a spare magazine with my gun and this happens with both (I also had the gun apart and cleaned everything so it's not all gunked up with cosmoline). Has anyone else noticed this on their gun?

Guys watch the youtube video by hickok45-tt33. i don't know how to link it here but its a great video and the one he is using had the same issue so I guess it is normal/common! Cool video though and dispels the rumors about the tok being inaccurate! He seems to enjoy shooting it single handed ,,and is good at it!! A Gong at 80 yards!!!

This is the way of the Tok, when i remove one of m'y 7 mags, the slide close by itself, just to much fun to shoot aniway 

My wartime production TT-33 (or, I think I should say one of my wartime production magazines) has a particularly bad case of this- bad enough that I have to use a screwdriver to remove it.

What is happening (at least in my gun, YMMV), is the magazine follower has too much slop in the fit, it will work its way forwards- far enough to hang up on the feed ramp. On mine, it will actually jump the frame-portion of the feedramp and jam completely! It's a good thing that the Tokarev is a sturdy gun and there is nothing to break externally, because if that happened in combat I would be using it as a ninja star!

If it's happening with both of your magazines, I would check the mag release (as someone mentioned). Then again, maybe you just got two ****ty mags!

Just got my 2 polish toks, and work flawlessly so far, with the slide open or closed, fantastic looking guns! Just a question though,, are they binding with ammo in them or just empty mags in and out? So far I have only worked mine empty. My old Russian refurb has that problem but I haven't worked on it much yet.
Cheers!

When the slide is locked back, my (empty) mags bind slightly . . . going in or coming out. When the slide is fully forward my mags go in and drop out freely (I have not tested this with a full mag). This issue is not something that is going to prevent me from using the gun, I was just curious if anyone else was experiencing the same thing.

P.S. I checked my follower . . . it is not hanging up on the feed ramp (but thanks for the suggestion lonesalamander).
