Greetings
Waiting on my RPAL and the TT33 is on my list
now is there range friendly ammo available for this
as my primary range is indoors so no surplus metal core or case allowed
thank you in advance for your input

The 9mm Tok is a tad sketchy quality wise, compared to the Soviet ones.
I just read a large post about the ' Steel core ' ammo lately. Apparently it's copper washed Steel jacket over lead core. But if it sticks to the magnet...the RO will likely say " Nay "

Tok ammo comes in steel jacket over lead, steel jacket over lead&steel, bimetal jacket over lead and bimetal jacket over lead and steel and probably other things too..

Steel Pin AP ammo is illegal in Canada and I haven't seen any for sale here in over 30 years but it's what people think of when they hear "steel core"

The biggest issue with steel jacket over lead core ammo is the sparks and fire risks (indoor and outdoor) assuming you are shooting at 25 yds or more from the backstop or anything the jacket could bounce back at you off of

Thanks for posting that pic.
Now I don't feel guilty trying to sneak only a third one in to the safe.

Buy Russian, you won't regret it. Once you learn to shoot Tok, any other handgun will be like marvel of engineering. Warning here
They are addictive, and I'm the junky already.

It was my 1st pistol ( hence the moniker ) and I do appreciate them. I just don't find them that accurate. But for all intents they mimic a 1911 Colt, I never did understand all the hate some folks have for them.
And the 7.62 x 25 is a p*ss cutter of a round, although it was funner when the BIG crates were around.
Enjoy.

Second.
Get an original Russian.
Some guys say avoid the war years one. I only own one. It's a 1944 with a like new barrel.
A lot of people say they aren't accurate guns. Which is 100% BS. They are very accurate.
They are just not easy to shoot at first. The grip angle takes some getting used to and the trigger is a bit stiff but once you shoot it a lot and get used to it, it's a very slim, accurate and powerful handgun. They are literally cheaper than dirt. The ammo is cheap as well when you consider the 2280 rounds for around $350.
I'm a huge fan. Have shot many handguns over the years and I still get more satisfaction out of my TT33 for some reason.
You won't regret it Sir.
