The gas block on that rifle is timed using a crimp. Getting it off is easy, but getting it to stay on the new barrel reliably may be tricky. Not much material to work with...
Changing the barrel would likely involve also creating a gas block.
If its a looks thing I would lean more toward a barrel shroud than a new barrel. Like mentioned above the gas block may be a problem in the end. The rifle itself even with its thin profile barrel gives nothing away in the accuracy department. I personally have never liked the look of the thin barrel and was going to by one until I shoulder a couple and the ethos just didn't work for me, but in the process did quite a bit of reading about the cryo barrel process and those MR1 barrels can really take a massive amount of rounds down them before heating to a point that it effects it's performance.
