Tubb 2000

Let me be the first to offer...$1000.

Terry.. better anti up 4 grand more. He has 6br and 6XC barrels. Needs a coke can shim were the butt stock fits the main chassis or when you pull the trigger you get a slight shift on target (I know we shot it at a BR match). Coke can mod could be $25 from Tubb:redface:

Don't ask him about chambers, specially the XC.

right don't ask!...

I ever get that sonof... working you two will be the first to know!:p

Norm, he said it's a useless piece of sh*t. How much is a useless piece of sh*t worth? Don't care what it is worth new, or if he doesn't know how to shoot/fix it. I'm offering $1000 up front. We can negotiate higher or lower...if it is collecting dust, and John is thinking to sell. As a matter of fact, I don't want the barrels.:dancingbanana:

hahah... yer killing me Terry... kids kids... all is not lost... worst case scenerio is we take this cracker-jack or fine piece of craftsmanship/workmanship and turn the ##### into a palma gun, chamber her in that ballistically sound .308 caliber oh oh... you know that weird s**t with iron sights. little ladders, leather straps (Tom loves the leather especialy his jacket!.. the straps a bonus for me) and you have to hold the darn thing. My strategy would have it such that I'm paired with you kids and my adviced would be to be sure to bring a book to the line cause well you know...

anybody else wanna get their licks in?

You guys got fine rigs Savages/Stevens/Tube guns you'd don't need to be dickin around...

Terry the grand will get you the float tube, bolt and Anschutz trigger.

John, seriously now, is it for sale? How much? Just very curious.

I'm not looking to sell it Terry, though I came close as there's better stuff for what we do. I'm thinking of building a TR rifle. These things are like race cars you never get back what you put into them. Got a Barnard I can use for it but then one of the guys I was talking to said the Tubb would be ripe for that. Ah who knows...

last I heard with the XC chamber is that it's perfect!... nothing wrong with it. If I showed you the cases I don't think you'd shoot it. Well you wouldn't shoot in those calibers anyway you'd chamber it up in something predicable...

John,
If you are strapped into that rifle just right, it will either bend in half or shoot like a house on fire:p. Shooting with a sling will take all the play out of the butt assembly. Put some irons on it a see how she shoots before putting a .308 barrel on it and turning it into a Palma gun. Could be a backup TR rifle to the Barnard. Or you could have a short range gun and a long range gun.

I'm thinking 6BRX. Anyways, I think Maynard is right. If you're strapped in the play should disappear. It would make a pretty sweet TR platform.

The kit that works with the 700 action is kind of nice...

And it takes AI magazines...

I have just acquired a 6XC and it is a great cartridge. Very accurate, but it has nothing over the 6X47 Lapua I have, in fact the availability of Lapua brass and the smaller primer make the 6X47 a better choice I feel.
