If you did not have preference to action, my recommendation would be a Remington 582. It might be a little difficult to find one but I think is would be worth the effort. Good luck with your hunt.

Other things to consider is that the 'older' Marlin-60s have 1) way more rounds down the tube (with Micro-groove rifling) and 2) do Not have LSHO if pre-1984. And there are 'occasional' deals on 'hardly used' 60s. I found a 2014 NIB in 2020 - the owner had bought it and never got time to shoot, He was a young Air Traffic Controller and overworked. I got the rifle a 3-9 scope and a box of 100-CCI-MM for $250. Nowadays the price would be ca $ 4-500 for a similar deal.
PS - here's the bubba loader - the ends are 'half' 308 cases w-ear plugs for caps - ca $5 for vinyl plus some threaded rod to 'stiffen' and clear pack tape to secure w-vinyl. As I said, there are retail ones on A-zoom for ca $30 or so. You can specify what round-count you want or get high count and only load what you want.

I agree that the Browning SA is the best of the best, but I found that my typical shooting grip had hot empties going down into the cuff of my left hand from the bottom-eject when shooting. I'd try one before buying to see if it works for you.
Lever guns are the obvious choice for me here. They all seem to feed S, L and LR rimfire loads interchangeably.
And I don't think that anybody has mentioned the Remington Nylon series rifles? I've had a bunch, still have one; mine's in removable box mag style but the vast majority were tube fed with the magazine inside the stock...and they've been a favourite of mine for a half century.

I have a couple of tube fed rifles, the Remington 572 Fieldmaster BDL being my favorite. They are a little difficult to find but well worth it and there are few moving parts. I like how the tube mag is easy to load without the sore thumbs. I also own a Marlin 39M but don't think I would want to pay for one nowadays. Lots of other good options posted in here. Gone a little full circle here turns out after chatting with a friend he has his father’s old Marlin 81 and offered it for me to try. Was in pretty rough shape so was leaning it up. I’m too use to magazines that I can pop and easily use a rod for cleaning. Had to take it apart which was fairly easy but a pain as well to get the feeding mechanism out of the way. Found a nice toz 17 today. Hopefully hear for the weekend.
Love my Henry .22 (I think H001) lever-action and I have an old Rossi Gallery pump gun that's just as smooth although I'm not sure about the newer ones. For semi-auto, a Remington Nylon 66 is an option but a bit more of a novelty (nylon stock, loads through butt) but seem to go for decent prices.
