Hope I can type this to make some semblance of clarity. I'm stuck in the bush for a bit so going to the store isn't an option and I want to order... ;)

The Leupold site lists dimension "B" as bell to bell. So on a 20mm straight tube objective scope does this mean the dimension is to the end of the tube or perhaps the objective lens? The overall dimension is 9.5" and tube is 5.5". 4.5" for the ocular? section seems a little long but from the jamb nut maybe not.

The current scope is 5.1" tube length and slightly short for mounting but I don't want the front ring almost flush to the front of the scope. If it is that short - it only leaves the VX6 option that definitely will work and have the proper look and balance but Christmas is coming and I should be somewhat frugal. Any assistance from VX2 1x4 owners is much appreciated!!

Would VX3 info work? I can measure up mine if that helps.

However I believe what you need is the ring mount area, on a straight tube you can mount right to the end.

I don't know how keen I would be on placing the ring directly around the objective lens. Seems like a bad idea to me.

I had one mounted on a 300 WBY for years, current owner is still using it and no issues yet. However that's just one case.
