This is the receiver if you buy it stag :

The retail on these is $449.99 + tax and shipping.

If you want a complete rifle we can also do that. They will come as standard in a Magpul X-22 Backpacker stock, Kidd complete bolt, a standard Ruger 10/22 trigger pack, our recoil buffer and our extended charging handle and guide rod. There is not a price for rifles yet, I will do the math and deal with that tomorrow if I have time.

Optional different Kidd bolts, stock colours, charging handle colour, Kidd triggers, barrel mounted Picatinny rail etc. are available on request.

I'm pretty excited....lol

Not fond of how far the Pic rail extends past the stock when the rifle is in backpack mode. And with a scope on, the lens would project back even further.

Are there any options for barrel-mounted iron sights? Or a shorter rail for a red dot? Or perhaps can the rail be mounted backwards to go with a scout scope out over the barrel?

It has a lot of potential and I want to love one of these, but I can't quite see how I'd have it configured yet.

There is the potential for the Midwest Industries handguard to be used in this configuration.

If Dlask says that it fits, I would likely be going this way as I would like to have M-LOK to put on a handstop and a light on the forend - something you can't do with the regular X-22 backpacker forend. I also like the fact that it's a full handguard as I like a thumb-over-bore position when handling, which would be easier with that handguard vs putting your hand on a potentially hot barrel with the regular takedown handguard. You can also put an option on the rail by putting a picatinny rail section, or use MI's direct M-LOK adapter if you have a red dot with the Aimpoint Micro footprint.

Dlask's 9" barrel would probably match perfectly with the MI 8" handguard, more so with their compensator on it! Pop that combo onto the X-22 Backpacker rear-end and it's a super handy tactical plinker - someone has already figured out the combo based on this Reddit post, with the second rifle: https://ibb.co/tbJ6bbt

Does compensator length in photo above count as overall length?? I’m going Midwest and would love to know

I can’t check out. None of my CC’s work I’m getting a payment transaction tokens error. Anyone else?

WHOA! That's awesome. Leigh, what barrel is that on your Midwest build? and what's the compensator? That's exactly what I'm hoping to build with the TUF-22 TD.

Yes, barrel attachments count when measuring a rifle for overall length. We have this in writing from the RCMP 'Lab" :

" Good afternoon,

The Criminal Code does not specify that a barrel accessory cannot be included in the overall length of a firearm, so you can include it in your measurement.

Please let us know if you have any further questions,

That is our 9" carbon fiber Takedown barrel and our XB-1 barrel comp in the MWI 8" handguard and chassis. On the rear is a Mil spec buffer tube, Strike Industries castle nut, Magpul CTR butt stock, Mil spec cheapo pistol grip all topped off with the brilliant Trijicon MRO optic. If you nix the XB-1 comp and go with a 12.5" barrel you are still N/R but are also legal to use it to hunt.

Will the Magpul Hunter X-22 Backpacker Optic mount fit on your barrel withe the Magpul X-22 Backpacker stock?

https://magpul.com/hunter-x-22-backpacker-optic-mount.html?mp_global_color=118

And I gotta say your 10-22 TD receiver looks AWESOME!! I will have to pick up a couple later this year.

Cheers!

The last sentence….are you saying the the original setup (9” with comp) is not legal to hunt with? Or am I reading that wrong?

BC has a minimum barrel length, that's what they're referring to.

Ah, ok, I was wondering about that, was just researching BC to see if that was the case. I am in NB, so as far as I know I could hunt with the 22 SBR as long as the OAL is 26". Thinking about building a Takedown with the new DLask TD receiver and one of their 9" barrels in a Magpul Backpacker. I would want to ensure it "could" be used for hunting (in NB) before doing so.

I guess this is it for BC, interesting. So from a hunting perspective the 22 SBR with a 9" barrel would be considered a handgun.

"Handgun – is a firearm that is designed,
altered or intended to be aimed and fired by
the action of one hand or that has a barrel
less than 305 mm (12 in.) in length."

https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/s...-2022/hunting-trapping-synopsis-2020-2022.pdf

I'm assuming the screw hole placement on that Dlask mount is symmetrical front and rear? So you could attach the mount facing the other direction, with the rail pointing towards the muzzle? That would keep it entirely above the barrel and prevent it from adding to the length of the taken-down package.

Easy to mount a red dot or scout scope and still keep it as short as possible.
