TUkish OU shotguns

When I saw the piece of steel reinforcement in the Mossberg and Stevens models (due to the alloy frames) I went with the steel framed Kahn and Tri Star. Reports from the states were the steel case heads used in shotshells these days were wearing out the breech faces very quickly, and the steel inserts were stop gap to prevent it. Not a slam but something to be aware of. As always do the research before purchasing.

Buy what you can afford and what makes you happy but realize, price is very often an indicator of quality. Do be shocked when a cheaper Turkish firearm is not the same quality of say a Beretta or Browning. As long as you go in with the understanding that you often get what you pay for, you will be fine.

I agree but Higher grade does not mean foolproof ,I have had 2 Berettas and a Benelli down within the same month, so nothing is perfect

Well I guess I will find out the quality of a Turkish O/U soon. I just purchased my first O/U, after much research I went with an Akkar Churchill 812. I’m planning on using it to start shooting trap locally, if it turns out to be something I enjoy I can upgrade down the road to a “B” gun. I also wanted something that was steel shot capable for the duck blind, and if we end up moving to Alberta this year I’m very interested in trying out some pheasant hunting. Hopefully this will do the trick for me, not looking at putting thousands upon thousands of rounds thru it so I should be happy with it.

Here is the new Tristar Trinity that is getting rave reviews, feels amazing, steel receiver and very well finished, mechanical trigger and manual safety

After about 20,000 to 30,000 rounds my mossberg silver reserve started to get loose. Broke several firing pins. 8 IIRC. Homemade firing pins made from a grade 8 bolt lasted the longest.
