Almost had a serious injury today shooting Tula Ammo. I urge everyone strongly to read this before buying Tula Ammo.
I have Tula 308 and .223 only the 308 have had minor mishaps until today when we had complete failure and almost caused serious injury.
Beginning of summer we shot the 308 through my Savage 10 VLP with a competition barrel and the Tula Ammo blew my extraction clean out of my bolt, twice. To the benefit of the doubt, my friend and I assumed that the ammo wasn't a good match to the tight tolerances of the barrel and gun.
We ran this ammo through his Remington 700 Macmillan, blew his extractor clean off and some shrapnel in his face. Nothing too serious, we decided that this ammo was to be used up on a surplus rifle and never to be spoken of again.
Fast forward to today, got an M305 and decided to run some Tula through this. BIG MISTAKE.
First few rounds went fine. Then the inevitable happened. The footing the shell blew off, blowing the bottom of my mag clean off. My friend quickly moved away as a fire ball engulfed the chamber/trigger section of the rifle. I checked for injuries, luckily just a little shock from the incident.
The casing is still stuck in the barrel, I have the footing as proof. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
