While looking at various SKS's in store, the one I walked away with is the only one that i noticed the Tula star and arrow (along with a date) stamped on the side of the stock.

This mean anything? Make it any more special than the rest?

On a side note, its a 1952, but on the stock I cant make out the last digit. Look kinda like a 2 or a 3 or a 6. Because its a referb (original #'s barred out), but no barring of the date makes me wonder if they simply stamped the new date's last digit thats on the receiver cover over the old date.

All Tula SKS45s from 1949-1955 will have the star on the stock unless its been sanded off or its a laminate.
