Tula Toz magazines

I have a Toz-98 – and it's great. Lightweight and accurate. But the factory-issued magazines are a pain in the ass because some of the catches that keep them in the rifle just don't seem to want to stay.

Has anyone else had the same problem? How did you fix it?

You mean TOZ 78?

I've fixed a few, some just needed to be filed a bit deeper or a bit wider, some I filled the notch with JB Weld and re-filed it.
Not a hard fix.

Yeah! So to the best of my knowledge it’s a Toz 98, which is the name for the semi-auto variant of the 78.

Thanks Hitzy for that suggestion. I eventually used the mark where the latch was (poorly) seating against the magazine to whittle the notch a bit larger. No more problems! I’m glad to hear you also found success with a toolbox solution.
