Has anyone tried this stuff yet? Looking for some inexpensive fun and was wondering if anyone had tried these rounds. I like the price if they are ok for bolt action. I have heard the ar's eat them pretty good.
if they are like the norinco stuff, you will likely have some rounds not fire or take a few hits to go off. the primers are harder for free floating firing pins, not light bolt action firing pins.
So no these are not a good round for my savage. I have lots of issues with the norinco stuff. After reading the tulammo site it sounded promising but min order is $100, which is a lot if they don't run well.
I dont know if this helps, but my dad has shot wolf and mfs steel cased stuff in a savage axis that hated Chinese ammo. Functions fine, but is sticky to feed (lacquered cases probably).
I might give it a try I just would hate to spend $100 and my rifle not function well. I have already has this issue with the norinco case I bought. I was able to sell it at least to make most of the money back.
I haven't tried any .223 tula ammo myself, so grain of salt is important, but for the 7.62x39 and 7.62x51 stuff i have heard that it is usually a little underpowered compared to the chinese stuff, which is considered to be loaded a little hot.
