Tulsa, Oklahoma Oct 21,22. Used some Aeroplan points and met some (until now on-line) friends from Sweden and the US. 3800+ tables and boy are my feet sore.

If you wanted it, it was likely there. Found my "Holy Grail" - a bolt for my Hungarian 43M and it was not cheap. Will post pics of the gun on October purchases. Had to go to eBay today to get a bayonet I wanted (Swiss M1889/18)

Observations - prices were high compared to Canada except for Mosins and Turk Mausers (those were $75-125). LOTS of handguns, Springfield 03's, Garands, Arisakas, K98's. To my surprise, relatively few (there were 3800+ tables) Carcanos, Swede Mausers, Swiss stuff, South American.

To add to my excitement, there was an accidental discharge 100' away from me about 1/2 hour after the show opened. The newspapaer reported that a dealer thought he had a snap cap in a double-barreled 410 but it was a Russian aluminum shot shell. Went through his display and struck two people - one in the back of the head, the other in the abdomen (both superficial).

This might be a yearly event for me. :)

hmm, seems to me the god of canadian milsurps was offended and had to punish you with a 410 :D Sounds great. i can imagine the sadness of leaving the place, and also of knowing its gonna be hard as hell if you wanna buy anything!

Andy, what exactly is a Hungarian 43M? I think I have seen the profile of a hungarian rifle and the back if the bolt sticks out (a grip or something) I dont know if it was a 43M.

P.S.

I forgot to say that I saw a Pederson device for sale $20,000 including a complementary Springfield '03. To be honest - a fair price.

Several Persian Mausers too - they are nice.

Favourite sign at the show:

"Attention Parents. Unattended children will be given Espresso and a free puppy". :D

Yea, I was on the lower level near the big brass and bullet vendor. Heard it go off, there was about 5 seconds of silence , then people went back to buying and selling. The rumours abounded. Some said a table fell over (until the police and EMT showed up), others that a handgun went off. I said to my friends that it sounded like a low power big bore, maybe a 410, and they thought 9mm. I was lucky but still a bit smug about guessing right. I have a newspaper clipping and video of the news clip.

I wish I knew you were there. I posted that I was going about a month ago and got no responses - but I see this was your first post. WELCOME

I doubt I'll make the Mar 31 - April 1 show, but my gang does plan to be there (US and Scandinavian guys). They get a table and I got a dealer pass :D. Maybe next October again.

No. :(

Next time I go, I'll make a more concerted effort to coordinate in advance. I can say though that I gave my best while I was there. It took me 6 hours just to scan the place once (making notes), and another few hours to hit the "hot" spots again. I know I still missed lots - just too much to see. Feet gave out before my wallet strangely enough.

Well if you make the Spring show let me know, that concrete floor and that 11 acres building are murder on the feet.
