Tumbeling loaded ammo?

Is it safe to tumble old or new loaded ammo?

I just loaded my first 500 of .40 S&W with out a tumbler but now have access to one through a friend & i would like to touch up my cases.

Yes it's ok. No it doesn't damage the powder and alter its burn characteristics.

Loaded rounds are given a final tumble prior to package and shipping. Go for it.

I tumble loaded ammo all the time and nothing happens.

i've tumbled live ammo countless time to make sure they shine when i hit the range loll.. my tumbler is a dillon ,i 'm using corn cob media.

Searching the web normally results in the worst case scenario BS every time. Thats great news, Ill be tumbling all my ammo shortly!!!

Only thing I wouldnt tubmle loaded ammo into is the water based pin setup incase water makes it way inside the rnd and buggers the powder otherwise dry tumblers are fine

Police Department I used to work for always tumbled their reloaded ammo in a small cement mixer. Probably still doing it to this day.

jerry miculek does with his brass, I believe as long as it wasn't used. It should be fine. You could spray some bed liner in there I'm sure.

I saw that video, he does it with his used brass, then sets it out on large sifters to get air flow on both sides to help it dry.

Just don't tumble loaded ammo using Barnes TSX or most other hollow point bullets, the media will plug the hole.
