I have Always used ground up walnut shells to clean my brass - Has always worked but what can i do to make it even better and FASTER to clean my brass ? I have heard that adding DAWN ?? dish soap and others say CLR ?? to the walnut media helps - What do you use ? s RJ

i have the tumbler running when I add the wax let it mix in then add the brass

Dawn dish soap and CLR would be for SS wet tumbling, I can’t see that working with walnut or corn. Nufinish or any car polish works good.

Yep! Just a little bit, about the amount of toothpaste you would use on your toothbrush.

I thought Brasso was no good due to the reaction with the ammonia?

Not sure, just what I read. Maybe more knowledgeable can inform?

Unless you bath the cases in the stuff for weeks on end nothing bad will happen.

I could be wrong here, but a lot of what is suggested makes the brass nice and shiny, but I don't think it speeds up the cleaning process significantly. What I did was to get a Frankfurt Arsenal Rotary Tumbler. The one one would use for wet tumbling. Fill it 3/4 more or less with your media (crushed walnuts) and let it work. This seems to clean the cases well and in less time than a traditional vibratory tumbler.
