hey guys when do u usually tumble your brass before you deprime resize or after can u tumble primed brass? just seems like a time suck if u have to deprime then tumble then reprime...
For pistol brass I tumble before I reload as I use carbide dies and they don't require lube. For rifle ( except 223 ) tumble, then resize, then tumble again to take off the sizing lube. I use to not re-tumble but sometimes there it still too much lube inside the neck of the case and it would get stuffed with powder and dump all over the place
I tumble before I do anything to the brass, then I run them through my progressives, and tumble the loaded cartridges for about 15 minutes to remove the lube.
Just a word of caution about tumbling after reloading, some people do this and others don't. My risk tolerance is very low so I've never done it. There is a risk of causing the powder to breakup which can significantly change the burn rate. Can you say pipe bomb!
