I am getting into reloading and now im looking for my first buy(tumbler). What is a durable yet affordable tumbler thats out there? Any sources in Ottawa for this?

Any info would be great...

I bought the Lyman Turbo Tumbler. It gives you an extra container to drain your media into when you are done tumbling. You just pull the plug and watch it drain out! I like the idea of being able to drain it while you still have it tumbling, it leaves your brass all facing upwards, and the only media left is in your cases. This is the perfect time to dump any media out of each case, and inspect each case for any cracks, bulges, excessive wear etc. I am sure there are stores in your area that will carry these, if not I am sure they will order one for you. Cheers! And Merry Chrismas!:D

Since you are in Eastern ON, I would recommend buying it from LeBaron, I am sure there is one driving distance away from you. They are open on the 26th boxing day and lotsa sale item. :)

I have a Hornady, works very well with corn cob media, treated every couple batches with Dillon polishing compound.

Lyman turbo----seems to do a great job. I thought less than $100 at Russells, not positive on the price.Argggg couldn't stand it so I looked up the price in Wholesale book. Start at $99 to $220. Let your eyes be your judge and your pocket book your guide.----Cowboy

Have a lyman 600 with both the turbo flo and non draining bowls. I tend not to use the drainer as I stuff as many handgun cases as I can in each load, the tumble the media out with a franklin armories squirrel cage tumbler.
Thy Lyman is a great and durable unit!

I am currently using an RCBS vibrating tumbler, but if I was going to get a new one I'd go with a rotating tumbler like the Thumbler Tumbler sold by SIR. This unit uses an octagon rubber drum, or can be set up to use two smaller drums.

+4 or +5 (what's it at now?) for the Lyman. I've got the Turbo 2200 Auto-Flo and it is great if you're using it inside the house where you don't want to make a mess and get dust everywhere when you drain the media.

I would get one locally if the price was good but I got mine from Cabela's as the price was very good compared to local or even Wholesale Sports or Russel's.

Only problem with it that bugs me is the extra bowl that it comes with is too low and you have to turn it as it is draining so as to not over flow over the side. Save an ice cream bucket instead for it.
