Tumbler ?

I'm new to reloading (green as grass), I have ordered some gear to complete my reloading outfit. One thing I have order is a RCBS tumbler, my question is I have read some guy's add Brasso, Vim or other cleaning liquids. The RCBS web site states there tumbler is not for liquid cleaners. I take it the amount of liquid added to standard tumblers will not damage the tumbler as the dry media will absorb most of it and aid in cleaning?

Also is there any steps to cleaning the brass after it comes out of the tumbler besides cleaning out the left over media.

Remember Green as Grass and any help would be great.

No you don't have to add anything. Sometimes if the media starts get a little worn and dirty there is a media replenisher on the market, but by that time it's just as cheap to but new media.

Sometimes a brass brush to clean out the inside of the cases if they are really dirty and filled with dirt and crap from the field. For my PPC & tournament loads I clean out the primer pockets.

Same here.No liquids, just tumbler media. Put 60 rounds in my lyman tumbler before I went to work. Nice and clean when I shut it off 8 hrs later. Pick the brass out pouring out media from the cases as you go. Clean the primer pockets with the brush and good to go-----Cowboy

Thanks for the replies. So just clean of the cases and clean out the primer pockets, I have all the tools to do the job. I just wanted to see if there was any more steps like washing the cases after they come out of the tumbler.
I see some guy's add fabric softner sheets to control the dust. I think I'm going to try the pet store media or should I try the ammo mfg's media.

Brasso is a bad thing to use on cases anyways as it weakens the brass over time. I know of people who have never tumbled brass and do it the old fashioned way and use hot soapy water and by hand. (Guess the washing machine was off limits). Softener sheets work very nicely at capturing the excessive dust, throw a half dozen 1"x1" squares in a load and see how much dust they accumulate. Corncob media from a pet store is usually less than 1/2 the price but isn't ground down quite as fine as tumbling media. Unless you are reloading something under a .22, the pet supply media should be fine.
I use a small hobby air compressor to blow out the dust in the necks/bodies of tumbled cases. Or get a aerosol can of compressed air for computer keyboards, does the same thing. If you want to go to the same levels that is

Just use corn cob media and you will be fine, you don't have to do anymore to the cases after, if there is a chunk of media in the old primer, it will pop out when you deprime.
