Tumbler

ok guys here is the pic I've been trying to post for the last two days. The brass on the left is out of an RCBS tumbler and the one on the right is out of my Lyman. BOTH used the same media and polish juice but the RCBS example came out 10X better....WTF!

Your media could be contaminated with sand or other grit. This can come from shell casings that are picked up off the ground. The grit will "scratch" the surface instead of polishing it, leaving a sandblasted type of finish.

Likely the aplitude of the vibration. This can be adjusted by moving the spinng weight in or out from the shaft of the motor (on most tumblers)

have you checked the flux capacitor?.....LOL Kidding, the one on the left came out nice. My thoughts are that it is possible some sand or other grit got in on you.

I have a Lyman 1200,I use treated corncob media.2 or 3 hours is lots to clean brass to a mirror finsh.I keep my tumbler loads down to 100 to 150 brass.

I also add a tablespoon of liquid car polish periodically when the media gets old, and cases are not so bright. Works very well.
