I did the same using rubber rollers and a 10 litre olive barrel. lucky I had a motor with a gear reducer. I found that because of the weight, the rollers would slip, so I went chain drive (got the chain and sprockets from Princess auto).

im also going with a chain drive, cant get pullys in 1" shaft small as i wanr the drive, so it will cost me about 30 bucks for the sprockets and adapters, only thing i need next is a capfor the pipe and a reducer to 6" then a cap on the reducer

I used a 1yr old treadmill I got for free because the person who owned it said it didn't work. Within 1.5 hours I had it running.

Works great. Big, but speed adjustable, fan cooled, and can take any size drum you can throw at it.

so question here where do you guys get your stainless steel media from?is there ans specific stuff i need to use? what do you guys add in with the brass and media?
For the stainless pins, contact "Rooky" on this site...he is a great guy to deal with and will set up with the pins you need.
As for the recipe, you add about a teaspoon(small squirt) of regular dishsoap and a small amount of "lemishine"(I use 1 9mm case of lemishine) for a gallon of water. You can find lemishine at Canadian Tire and some other stores.
A couple of things to note.......
lemishine is basically citric acid. Some guys find other sources for bulk citric acid.
Also, the lemishine is what gives you the sparkling shine. If you are not worried about the shine then you can get away with just the dishsoap, however the lemisine helps soften the water and thus allows the soap to work better.
I will also mention the the lemishine is just an additive to help the brass shine and not meant to clean the brass. More is not better ....if you use too much lemishine, you will notice that your brass may get a pinkish hue, which is caused by de-zincification of the brass

perfect thank you! shiny isnt important but sure looks good! for the 5 bucks i think ill spend the money, i will contact him and see what he says, im waiting on my drum, my buddy who works for a big construction place is trying to build me up a 10" drum

I just finished building one last week.

I ordered 50 lbs of stainless from the US and drove down to pick it up.
My first batch i used dish soap and a splash of apple cider vinegar to give it some acidity, not sure if it helped or not, but it came out quite shiny. i think I'll invest in the lemishine

I have about 15 lbs of stainless pins left over if you're interested Winchester30-30, I'm in Winnipeg, pm me if you want.
